Cruise vessels carrying more passengers will receive higher discounts (Carlos Nogueira/AT/Archive) The Autoridade Portuária de Santos (APS) has renewed the tariff discounts for green and cruise ships. The reductions, which can reach up to 60%, will take effect this Friday (17), coinciding with the expiration of the one-year benefit granted in 2024. The discount applies to Table III (operational or land-based infrastructure). The discounts are intended for cargo vessels that achieve a high score in the Índice de Eficiência e Sustentabilidade Portuária (IESP), which evaluates contractual and operational compliance, as well as sustainability aspects of operations within the port complex. As for cruise vessels, the discount is granted based on the number of passengers per shipping company. Tariff reductions range from 10% to 60%, depending on passenger volume, with the highest discount applied to companies transporting more than 700,000 passengers. The discount will be applied provisionally based on forecasts provided by the shipping companies and will be adjusted at the end of the season based on actual data. Green cargo ships and cruise liners have benefited from tariff discounts at the Port of Santos since December 2023.
