The president of the Santos Port Authority (APS), Anderson Pomini, participated on Monday (27) in Madrid, Spain, in a meeting with the president of the Spanish State Ports, Álvaro Rodriguez, who discussed investment opportunities and exchanges between ports of Brazil, Spain and Colombia.
Authorities from the port, infrastructure and trade sectors of Spain were also present. The initiative is part of the Agenda Misión Inversa Puertos Brasileños Y Colombianos, which began on Monday and brings together leaders from Spanish ports, including Barcelona and Valencia, and from Colombia, including Cartagena, Santa Marta and Buenaventura. There are 46 ports subordinated to the Ports of the State, which include 28 port authorities.
Among the innovations in Spanish ports that Brazil aims to learn and study are computerized systems to streamline cargo loading and unloading, truck and train reception and ship monitoring.
Pomini recalled the efforts of Brazil's minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, towards the modernization of brazilian ports, with a focus on innovation and capacity expansion.
"The Port of Santos invests in the VTMIS monitoring system, in expanding railway capacity, in perimeter access, in deepening the channel and in concessions that enhance the multipurpose characteristic of our dock", stated Pomini.
