This year’s event brought together over 500 brands from 20 countries; projections indicate more than 46,000 visitors (Alexsander Ferraz/AT) A gathering to strengthen branding, showcase new products, and attract clients. That sums up the three days of the 29th edition of Intermodal South America, held from Tuesday (22) to Thursday (24) at the Anhembi District in São Paulo. Representatives from companies across various countries participated. Once again, the port sector of Santos was present at the event, one of the most prominent in the world in this field. The CEO of Brasil Terminal Portuário (BTP), Claudio Oliveira, explains that Intermodal is an opportunity for the company to receive, in a short period of time, the volume of clients, suppliers, and partners that would not be possible to reach throughout the year, thereby expanding business potential. “And we can showcase BTP’s latest updates. We are currently undergoing construction to increase capacity, with significant investments totaling R\$ 2 billion over the coming years. It’s about bringing innovation and presenting our plans for the future, always aiming for greater productivity and efficiency.” Oliveira also noted the increasingly international scope of the trade fair. “We had the presence of international, global clients and suppliers here. That’s important”, he said. The event featured more than 500 national and international brands from 20 countries. As of last night, there was no official attendance count, but projections aimed to exceed 46,000 visitors. Optimized agenda The Logistics Director of Terminal EBLog at Eldorado Brasil Celulose in the Port of Santos, Flavio da Rocha Costa, emphasized the great opportunity to engage with leading national and international suppliers. “With that, we were able to optimize our schedule, maintaining direct contact with professionals from the United States, Europe, and various regions of Brazil, all in one place. Additionally, we were also able to accelerate negotiations, update our market knowledge, and expand our network with current suppliers, potential future suppliers, competitors, and specialists from other sectors”, he detailed. The CEO of Norcoast, Fabiano Lorenzi, recalled that the company — founded in October 2023 and with cabotage operations (navigation between Brazilian ports) launched in February of the following year — attended Intermodal for the second consecutive year and successfully met its goals at the event by strengthening relationships with partners and clients. “It was an environment where our entire team had the opportunity to present our services, with a differentiated value proposition and an improved customer experience when using cabotage in the country”, he explained. Lorenzi also added that the event is the most important trade fair of the year for logistics companies. “And overall, you have the entire transportation infrastructure and port operations ecosystem here. We can say the mission was accomplished”, he stated. Projects The Executive Manager of Portocel, Alexandre Billot Mori, commented that the event provided visibility for the company’s infrastructure and for projects currently underway. “For at least five years now, we’ve been redefining our strategy and establishing a new position as a multi-cargo port in Barra do Riacho (in Aracruz, Espírito Santo) and sharing our expertise in handling forestry products and pulp with the rest of Brazil”, he detailed. Mori made a point of highlighting the diverse environment at Intermodal. According to him, it was extremely rich and varied, with logistics at the center of the discussion. “This opportunity to be at the trade fair is essential for sharing what we’re doing and planning for the future, establishing connections, and meeting people in a highly engaging exchange process”, he concluded.
