Even with the increase in competitors, this is the first time in the historical series that APS appears among the top 100 companies in the ranking (Alexsander Ferraz/AT) Autoridade Portuária de Santos (APS) stood out in the 2025 Época Negócios 360º Yearbook ranking, conducted in partnership with Fundação Dom Cabral. The federal public company responsible for the public infrastructure of the Port of Santos rose from 378th place in 2024 to 90th overall and reached 3rd place in the Financial Performance category among the 450 largest companies in Brazil. The ranking encompasses companies from all sectors of the economy with annual net revenue equal to or greater than R\$ 250 million, both public and private, and with different corporate structures. In addition to financial results, the methodology assesses the maturity of corporate management, considering items such as governance, environmental and social performance, innovation, future vision, and people. Even with an increase in competitors (last year there were 420), this is the first time in the historical series that APS appears among the top 100 companies in the ranking. The publication also highlights the company’s performance as the second fastest growing in total score from one year to the next. In the overall Financial Performance ranking, APS ranked behind only Odontoprev and Dataprev, respectively first and second place, and placed ahead of, for example, Lorenzetti (4th), Bradesco Seguros (7th), and Portonave (9th) — the latter being a private container terminal in Navegantes (SC), belonging to Grupo MSC. The achievements do not stop there. In APS’s area of operation, services, the company rose from 20th to 4th place and also reached 1st place in financial performance. Among state-owned companies, Autoridade Portuária de Santos ranks 6th. The growth is more than significant, as it ranked 21st last year. Linked to the Ministério de Portos e Aeroportos (MPor), APS, within a five-year window (until 2028), will have invested R\$ 12.5 billion in works to prepare Port of Santos for the future, focusing on the growing demand for all types of cargo. The natural highlight is the Santos–Guarujá immersed tunnel, a joint project between the Paulista and Federal governments. The investment is estimated at R\$ 6.8 billion, of which R\$ 5.1 billion is public funding — R\$ 2.55 billion from each government. Also noteworthy are the rock removal and dredging to deepen the navigation channel and the works on the perimeter roads of Santos and Guarujá, among other initiatives. "The result positions APS as a benchmark (a reference brand or standard used to measure and compare the performance of a product, service, process, or investment). We will work to maintain the trajectory of excellence and continue improving management practices for the next evaluation cycles”, said APS president Anderson Pomini (Alexsander Ferraz/AT) Commitment APS president Anderson Pomini recalls that the numbers demonstrate the commitment and dedication of the entire team in facing the challenges of the Port of Santos. “I also thank the Federal Government and the Ministério de Portos e Aeroportos (MPor) for their support and for reinforcing this unprecedented R\$ 12.5 billion investment in infrastructure. These results inspire the entire Brazilian port complex. Together, our ports have the mission of further boosting foreign trade, generating jobs, development, and social justice”, he stated. Pomini adds that there is still plenty of room to grow but celebrates this advance, considered extraordinary and representing significant progress in the management and operational excellence of the Port of Santos. “The result positions APS as a benchmark (a reference brand or standard used to measure and compare the performance of a product, service, process, or investment). We will work to maintain the trajectory of excellence and continue improving management practices for the next evaluation cycles”, he concluded.
