The investment will total R\$ 123 million, with R\$ 50 million from the Federal Government and R\$ 73 million from the Government of Pernambuco. The works, expected to be completed only in 2028, aims to create a protective barrier against the force of high tides in the outer port. To reinforce the structure of the breakwater, blocks weighing up to 12 tons will be placed. The project will restore the extension of the breakwater, which has suffered significant damage over the years, ensuring good conditions for the maneuvering and docking of ships, as well as minimizing the impact of waves and ocean currents.
