One week after conducting a 24-hour strike that affected the operations of ports, airports and highways across the country, federal employees from regulatory agencies had a meeting with the Federal Government on Thursday (11) in Brasília, marked by discussions and no agreement. The National Union of National Regulatory Agencies Employees (Sinagências) received a signal from the government that a proposal “will advance very little in relation to the category's expectations”. The union stated that the Valoriza Regulação operation should continue and is likely to be intensified. For ports, this means delays in cargo releases by inspectors from the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), also represented by the union. During the meeting on Thursday (11) at the Ministry of Management and Innovation (MGI), the government outlined the basics of a proposal that will be formalized. "However, it became clear that the central principle of the employees' struggle — to reduce internal disparities or those compared to other categories — will not be addressed", said the union. The proposal is expected to be a possible 21.4% salary increase for the regulatory career and 13.4% for the Special Careers Plan (PEC), but the exact percentage terms will be formalized. Upon receiving the formal proposal, Sinagências will decide the next steps for the movement, which includes calling for a new general assembly with the category. “We had a very difficult and complicated meeting. We received a proposal that advances very little”, said Fabio Rosa, President of Sinagências.
