Os dados são do relatório estatístico do Conselho dos Exportadores de Café do Brasil (Carlos Nogueira/AT) Brazil set a monthly record for coffee export volume in October, with 4.926 million bags shipped abroad. This represents an 11.6% increase compared to the same month in 2023 and a 3.27% increase over the previous record high in November 2020 (4.770 million bags). The data comes from the Statistical Report of the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé). According to Cecafé, the record was achieved “despite logistical bottlenecks.” In September, delays and frequent changes in ship schedules for export prevented the shipment of 2.1 million 60-kg bags of coffee, most of which were to go through the Port of Santos. Values With an average price of US\$ 282.80 per exported bag, the value generated by Brazil’s coffee shipments in October reached US\$ 1.393 billion, setting a record for a single month. Compared to the foreign exchange revenue obtained in October 2023, this marks an increase of 62.6%. Cecafé President Márcio Ferreira stated that the result was very positive, demonstrating the commitment of companies and their logistics teams to securing shipments by exploring alternatives, such as exporting via five break bulk vessels (when the product is transported loose or in bulk in the ship's hold) to fulfill international commitments. “However, it is important to highlight that there is still a large volume of coffee stuck at ports and that exporters continue to face logistical challenges in consolidating shipments due to persistent high rates of ship delays and rollovers”, he said.
