An assembly will be held at the auditorium of the Sindicato dos Empregados na Administração Portuária (Sindaport) on September 2nd at 10 a.m. The meeting will gather beneficiaries and participants of Portus - Instituto de Seguridade Social, the supplementary pension fund for dock company employees (port authorities). The purpose of the assembly is to discuss the counterproposal presented on August 5th by the National Federation of Port Workers (FNP), in conjunction with representative entities of the category, for a new resolution of the fund. The counterproposal includes seven points already covered in the sponsors' (dock companies) proposal: a 12.81% increase on current benefit amounts (with retroactivity to April 2024), resumption of annual benefit adjustments based on the accumulated INPC over the past 12 months (starting January 2025), resumption of death benefits, payment of death benefits to beneficiaries of participants and beneficiaries who passed away between the implementation of the 2020 agreement and the signing of the new agreement, resumption of the annual bonus, payment of the 2020 annual bonus to beneficiaries, and a linear reduction of the extraordinary contribution rate from 18.47% to 15.59%. If the counterproposal is approved, the revision can be carried out and benefits restored. If the proposal is rejected at the assembly, legal recourse will be the only remaining option, according to the entities. Prior to the assembly, a meeting will be held next Tuesday (27) in Brasília to finalize the matter. Sindaport is located at Rua Júlio Conceição, 91, Vila Mathias.
