The Port Authority of Santos (APS) has established exemptions in Tables I, II and III of the Port Tariff of the Port of Santos for ships carrying humanitarian aid and donations destined for the flood victims in Rio Grande do Sul. Tables I and II refer to the use of waterway and berthing infrastructures, while Table III remunerates the land infrastructure. Vessels carrying, in addition to humanitarian aid and donations for RS, other types of cargo will receive partial exemptions. APS will only grant exemptions upon proof of cargo classification and respective destination. In addition, relevant customs regulations must be observed. All supporting documents must be submited to APS through the Company's General Protocol, referencing Portaria Dipre No. 86.2024. Considering the emergency and humanitarian nature, the required proof may be provided after the billing of the call, with a letter of credit issued to the requester of port services, provided that the call occurred after the publication of Resolution Antaq (National Waterway Transportation Agency) No. 114/2024. The tariff exemptions will be in effect primarily for the duration of Decree No. 57,596, dated May 1st, 2024 (180 days), declaring a state of public calamity in Rio Grande do Sul due to the weather events caused by heavy rains, and may be extended if the state of calamity is extended or suspended.
