Grains stand out in the performance report of the ports of Paranaguá and Antonina (Claudio Neves/Portos do Paraná) With more than six million tons handled, the ports of Paranaguá and Antonina, in Paraná, recorded the best month of April in their history, up 11% compared to April 2025. The data are presented in a report prepared by the statistics team of the Port Operations Directorate at Portos do Paraná. In April alone, export volumes increased 16.06% compared to the same month of the previous year. Shipments of soybeans rose 43%, vegetable oils increased 35%, and petroleum products grew 33%. In the cumulative period from January to April, soybeans continued to show strong performance, with growth of 19%. Vegetable oils advanced 33%, followed by containerized cargo exports, which increased 9%, and petroleum products, up 2% compared to the first four months of 2025. Exports of frozen chicken meat grew 10.5% compared to April 2025. In the year-to-date period, shipments handled in Paranaguá account for 47.5% of all Brazilian exports of the product. This corresponds to more than 834 thousand tons shipped to other countries. In April, imports increased 2.7% compared to the same month of 2025. General cargo — handled outside containers — recorded growth of 254%. Wheat imports increased 50%.
