Auction winner must invest BRL 293 million in the area and contribute BRL 311 million to the implementation of the first phase (Portos do Paraná/Disclosure) Portos do Paraná has progressed with the bidding process for the upcoming auction of another area at the Port of Paranaguá. The space, known as PAR15 and located near the Export Corridor, will be allocated for the handling and storage of bulk vegetable solids under a 35-year concession for the new lessee. The bid notice was published last Tuesday (26). Currently, the area is occupied by Cargill. The auction winner will be required to invest approximately BRL 293 million in PAR15 and contribute BRL 311 million to the implementation of the first phase of the T-Pier. Auction Notice No. 1/2024, directed to interested parties, was published in the official gazettes of the Union and Paraná, accompanied by the bid notice and necessary technical and legal documents. The auction session is scheduled for February 21, 2025, at the São Paulo Stock Exchange, with proposals to be opened. “This is another important auction to increase the export capacity of soybeans, corn, and soybean meal through the Port of Paranaguá, ensuring legal security for the future lessee. The projection is that this area will increase its capacity from 115,000 static tons to over 190,000 tons after the planned investments are implemented”, said Luiz Fernando Garcia, CEO of Portos do Paraná. Garcia also highlighted that PAR15, together with other areas undergoing the same process, will transform the cargo handling capacity of the Port of Paranaguá. “With the operation of the centralized rail unloading station, the Moegão, and the new waterway structure with the T-Pier, we will enhance the efficiency of Portos do Paraná, which is already a benchmark in Brazil and globally”, he added. The requirements for participation in the auction are available on the Portos do Paraná portal and the Ministry of Ports and Airports website. This is yet another bidding process conducted by the public company itself through the Port Area Bidding Commission (CLAP), following the acquisition of the Delegation of Competences Agreement in 2019. “The delegation of competence allows us to lead the process, which is another distinguishing feature of Portos do Paraná. We remain steadfast in our commitment to regularize contracts and make our operations even more efficient and modern”, Garcia concluded.
