The opening was marked by a dinner at Aya la Vida restaurant, in Casco Viejo, the historic center of Panama City. The meeting marked the beginning of the strategic program promoted by Grupo Tribuna, which aims to bring professionals from the maritime and port sectors closer to leading operations, industry leaders and practical experiences in one of the world’s main maritime trade hubs. The project’s inaugural trip includes a program of technical visits, meetings with industry professionals and activities focused on the production and exchange of knowledge. The itinerary includes the Panama Canal, through which approximately 5% of global maritime trade passes, as well as major port terminals. Flávia Takafashi, President of the Mulheres a Bordo Committee, highlighted that the choice of Panama for the first international mission is directly related to the country’s importance to global trade and logistics. “It is impossible to talk about logistics, the port sector and geopolitics without looking at the Panama Canal. That is why this agenda was designed to combine technical knowledge with closer relationships among the executives taking part in this mission.” Renata Santini Cypriano, Vice President of Grupo Tribuna, highlighted the importance of the initiative and the opportunity to bring together women connected to the sector for an international experience. “We are happy to welcome all the women to this project”, she said. According to her, the program over the coming days will also allow participants to bring new knowledge and experiences back to Baixada Santista. “We will return to Santos with a wealth of experiences and knowledge.” Program Tuesday 8 a.m. – Technical visit to the Panama Canal 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Meeting with the Panama Port Authority 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. – Meeting and visit to Svitzer’s headquarters.
