The Brazilian delegation visited UiSee, a company specialized in intelligent driving technologies and autonomous vehicles, considered one of the leading players in the sector in China. The agenda organized by Grupo Tribuna placed Brazilian business leaders, executives, and authorities in direct contact with solutions that are already beginning to transform urban, industrial, and logistics operations in the Asian country — and which are still regarded as future technologies in many parts of the world. During the visit, mission participants were welcomed by the company’s team and introduced to several projects developed by UiSee, including autonomous cars, intelligent buses, driverless navigation systems, and integrated artificial intelligence platforms applied to mobility. Founded in 2016, UiSee has established itself as one of China’s leading companies focused on the development of autonomous driving solutions for urban environments, airports, ports, industrial parks, and logistics centers. One of the moments that most impressed participants was the hands-on experience aboard the company’s fully autonomous bus. Without any human intervention in driving, the vehicle transported members of the delegation for approximately ten minutes along a route surrounding the company’s technology center. During the journey, the bus performed turns, speed reductions, obstacle recognition, and automated navigation completely independently. The experience reinforced among visitors the perception that China already operates, in some sectors, at a highly advanced stage of integration between artificial intelligence, mobility, and urban infrastructure. It contains all the resources and can calculate, perceive (through sensors), and plan.” According to Zhou, in the beginning, UiSee’s ambition was “to apply the technology across multiple types of segments, but that is very difficult because it is not easy for ordinary people to use the solution, since it is highly abstract.” “To make understanding easier, we tried to package all our artificial intelligence technology. We placed our system inside a single box and created a controller that is easy to install, maintain, and use. You simply connect the cables, turn on the power, connect it to the vehicle, and then you can benefit from our technology. This is extremely useful for everyone,” he added.
