Missão Internacional Porto & Mar 2026 explores autonomous vehicle technology with AI at China’s giant UiSee

The Missão Internacional Porto & Mar 2026 concluded its stay in Beijing this Tuesday (26) with an immersion into one of the most advanced areas of Chinese artificial intelligence: autonomous mobility. The Brazilian delegation visited UiSee, a company specialized in intelligent driving technologies and autonomous vehicles, considered one of the leading players in the sector in China.

The agenda organized by Grupo Tribuna placed Brazilian business leaders, executives, and authorities in direct contact with solutions that are already beginning to transform urban, industrial, and logistics operations in the Asian country — and which are still regarded as future technologies in many parts of the world.

During the visit, mission participants were welcomed by the company’s team and introduced to several projects developed by UiSee, including autonomous cars, intelligent buses, driverless navigation systems, and integrated artificial intelligence platforms applied to mobility.

Founded in 2016, UiSee has established itself as one of China’s leading companies focused on the development of autonomous driving solutions for urban environments, airports, ports, industrial parks, and logistics centers. The company prioritizes connected smart mobility, integrating sensors, artificial intelligence, real-time mapping, and data analytics for automated vehicle operations.

One of the moments that most impressed participants was the hands-on experience aboard the company’s fully autonomous bus. Without any human intervention in driving, the vehicle transported members of the delegation for approximately ten minutes along a route surrounding the company’s technology center.

During the journey, the bus performed turns, speed reductions, obstacle recognition, and automated navigation completely independently. The experience reinforced among visitors the perception that China already operates, in some sectors, at a highly advanced stage of integration between artificial intelligence, mobility, and urban infrastructure.

Expanding operations

UiSee Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer Xin Zhou welcomed the Brazilian delegation and explained the dynamics that have enabled autonomous vehicles to gain increasing space in China.

“We strengthened the controller, which is the brain of an automation system. It contains all the resources and can calculate, perceive (through sensors), and plan.”

According to Zhou, in the beginning, UiSee’s ambition was “to apply the technology across multiple types of segments, but that is very difficult because it is not easy for ordinary people to use the solution, since it is highly abstract.”

“To make understanding easier, we tried to package all our artificial intelligence technology. We placed our system inside a single box and created a controller that is easy to install, maintain, and use. You simply connect the cables, turn on the power, connect it to the vehicle, and then you can benefit from our technology. This is extremely useful for everyone,” he added.

Business opportunities

In addition to the technological demonstrations, the agenda also featured a strong business and institutional relationship component. UiSee representatives exchanged information with members of the Brazilian delegation regarding future possibilities for cooperation and the application of these technologies in Brazil, especially in areas related to logistics, smart mobility, and industrial operations.

The Chinese company’s interest in the Brazilian market follows a broader movement of international expansion by Chinese technology companies, which have been increasing their presence in different regions of the world in recent years.

Throughout the visit, UiSee representatives highlighted applications focused on smart airports, automated logistics terminals, ports, and autonomous public transportation systems — areas that drew the attention of the Brazilian business leaders participating in the mission.

“It is an incredible amount of technology. We have already seen this in the United States, and now the same is happening in China. I mentioned this before, and it is worth repeating: schools should encourage technology by bringing young people closer and enabling them to move directly from the classroom into companies, which here create a perfect environment and motivate this generation to unleash their creativity. China is bringing technology to the rest of the world”, said Otávio Grottone, Head of Regulatory Affairs at Eldorado Brasil Celulose.

“What we saw here is astonishing. We are in a country with 5,000 years of history that managed to reinvent itself. We can only learn from China. It is an enormous amount of technology, an extraordinary advancement. They are far ahead. Regarding autonomous vehicles, we see this technology in the port sector, and last year, in the United States, we had contact with it on the streets of San Francisco. We are having an enriching experience”, said Alber Vasconcelos Neto, Director at Agência Nacional de Transportes Aquaviários (Antaq).

“Chinese companies, in addition to having excellent ideas, make things happen. We visited a new company, only ten years old, but within that time it has already delivered many significant achievements. This is a path we should follow. In Brazil, we have many ideas and initiatives emerge, but many of them die along the way. We need to learn how to integrate the most diverse sectors in Brazil to make things happen”, said Giovanni Borlenghi, Business Director at Grupo Cesari.

Delegation continues journey to Shanghai

After three days of intense activities in Beijing, the Brazilian delegation traveled to Shanghai aboard one of China’s famous high-speed trains, regarded as a global benchmark in speed, operational efficiency, and railway technology.

The decision to travel by land instead of air transportation aimed to provide participants with a practical experience inside one of the most modern railway systems on the planet. China’s high-speed rail network is currently the largest in the world and symbolizes the country’s massive investment in infrastructure, connectivity, and large-scale mobility.

During the trip, mission participants were able to closely observe the level of modernization of Chinese railway transportation, marked by comfort, operational precision, logistics integration, and speeds that have transformed the way millions of people travel daily throughout the country.

The arrival in Shanghai marks the beginning of a new stage of the Missão Internacional Porto & Mar 2026, now even more connected to topics related to port infrastructure, international logistics, automation, and business generation.

This Wednesday’s (27) schedule for the Missão Internacional Porto & Mar 2026 in Shanghai will begin with a visit to SenseTime, one of China’s leading artificial intelligence companies, whose operations headquarters are located in Shanghai.

Afterward, the Brazilian delegation will visit Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC), the Chinese state-owned company that is the global leader in the manufacturing of heavy port machinery.
