[[legacy_image_357272]] The Minister of Ports and Airports (MPor), Silvio Costa Filho, held a meeting with representatives of port authorities from across the country on Tuesday (14) in Brasília. At the meeting, disclosed on Wednesday (15) by MPor, a plan was made to implement the projects planned in the new Growth Acceleration Program (PAC) for the port and waterway sectors. The President of the Port Authority of Santos (APS), Anderson Pomini, attended the meeting to discuss the execution of projects planned for the Santos dock. The new PACs investment portfolio includes the execution of 35 projects for essential services to waterway transportation, whether in the import or export of cargo. These works are expected to receive around R\$ 4 billion in public investment. Among the planned projects are land access to public ports, river dredging work, modernization of port systems and infrastructure, among others. The minister emphasized the importance of the meeting to align sector challenges and work."When we analyze our docks, under the responsibility of the Federal Government, we look at the last five years and see that not even 20% of the actions have been executed. And what we need is to accelerate the pace in relation to this execution, so that we can truly understand what we can do more objectively to accelerate investments", said Costa Filho. Another item discussed was the review of the project created by MPor to develop a ranking of port authorities in the country. Called the Port Authorities Management Index (IGAP), it evaluates brazilian ports based on 15 metrics, such as management and governance performance, transparency in information disclosure, capacity to make investments, and quality of environmental management. The minister emphasized the commitment to collaborate for port companies to improve performance. Measures to assist the National Secretary of Ports, Alex Sandro de Ávila, emphasized that brazilian ports will be fundamental for the recovery of Rio Grande do Sul's economy. In addition, the mode has been essential for the transportation of donations.
