STS10 will be dedicated to container operations in an area of 601,000 square meters at Saboó Docks (Vanessa Rodrigues/AT) The virtual public hearing for the Tecon Santos 10 Container Terminal is scheduled for March 18 at 2:30 PM. The event will be streamed on the National Agency for Waterway Transportation (Antaq) YouTube channel. Those interested in participating in the hearing must register via WhatsApp at (61) 2029-6940, from 9 AM to 5 PM on March 17. Tecon Santos 10 will result from the lease of the area known as STS10, located at Saboó Docks, next to Valongo Park, at the Port of Santos. According to Antaq, the auction will increase the port’s container capacity by 50%. The megaterminal project, which will be the largest auction in Brazilian port history, with a planned investment of R\$ 5.6 billion, "is expected to create the conditions for the Port of Santos to become a hub (a port concentrated on receiving and distributing cargo) for all of Latin America", states the Agency. The project was recently restructured by the Ministry of Ports and Airports (MPor) and Antaq and is designed to be the largest terminal at the port, establishing itself as a crucial development to meet the demand for container and general cargo handling and storage. The financial investments at the terminal, over the course of 25 years, will enable interventions in the leased area and the port's common areas, including dredging services for the maneuvering area and the berths of the new terminal. Consultation The public consultation period regarding the leasing of the megaterminal is open and will run until 11:59 PM on March 24, exclusively through the electronic form available on Antaq's website. Contributions submitted via other means will not be accepted. Legal drafts and technical documents related to the public consultation for the Tecon Santos 10 terminal lease are also available on the Agency's website.
