DP World investirá R\$ 450 milhões para expandir a capacidade (Vanessa Rodrigues/Arquivo AT) DP World Brasil has reached an agreement with Maersk, a maritime transportation and logistics company, for operations at the Santos terminal. Through this commercial partnership, DP World will expand capacity and volumes, while Maersk ensures long-term service with a minimum agreed service level. The long-term agreement establishes the implementation of six services and eight weekly calls throughout 2025, with plans to increase to seven services and ten weekly calls starting in the second year, following the first phase of capacity expansion to be carried out by DP World. At that point, the terminal is expected to reach a volume of 1.7 million TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit, the standard container measure). “This is another strategic step for DP World, strengthening our presence at the Santos terminal and opening the door for new expansion opportunities in Brazil. This agreement with Maersk not only allows us to expand our operational capacity for container handling but also ensures a robust and sustainable long-term service”, said Márcio Medina, Commercial Vice President of DP World Brasil. Paulo Ruy, Regional Head of Terminals and Port Acquisitions for Latin America at Maersk, stated that the agreement guarantees service capacity for Maersk in Santos. “It is aligned with our strategy to ensure reliable and efficient operations for our customers in the region.”
