Coffee shipments at the Port of São Sebastião are not expected to be regular

According to Companhia Docas de São Sebastião, the Port of São Sebastião will not conduct regular coffee shipments. However, there is an expectation to continue operating coffee shipments at the port complex. “There are no scheduled dockings and no project to move the product on a regular basis. ”

The Port Authority states that the coffee shipment, conducted between September 8 and 12, was successful and generated positive expectations. “The operation occurred within the timeline set by the port operator.”

The port handled approximately 1.1 million tons from January to September, and a total of 1.4 million tons over the last 12 months. Among the main cargoes transported are bulk sugar, soda ash, and petroleum coke.

The Port Authority further informs that the SSB01 terminal, to be leased, could operate up to 4.3 million tons per year, quadrupling the current capacity of the port. The leasing process is in its initial phase.

The terminal will occupy an area of approximately 262,000 square meters, with at least two berths for ship docking, a road reception and dispatch system for cargo trucks, and storage facilities for at least 190,000 tons.
