The signed agreement will serve to monitor operational and infrastructure solutions at the Santos quay (Alexsander Ferraz/AT) A specialized committee to evaluate, propose, and monitor operational and infrastructure solutions for logistical bottlenecks at the Santos quay will be created by the Autoridade Portuária de Santos (APS). It will result from the Technical Cooperation Agreement signed between the Port’s management authority and the Instituto de Engenharia (IE), from São Paulo. The signing of the strategic partnership took place last Monday at the APS office in the capital of São Paulo. With a duration of 24 months, the agreement focuses on critical issues for the region, such as land access, logistics, urban planning, paving, and drainage. According to the document, the Instituto de Engenharia will promote workshops and plenary sessions with specialists, while APS will provide the technical data and the necessary logistical support. The agreement was signed by the presidents of APS, Anderson Pomini, and of IE, José Eduardo Frascá Jardim. Sustainability Continuing its sustainability agenda, APS formalized its adherence to the digital platform Blue Santos. The initiative, coordinated by Rethinking Works (RTW) and by the Associação dos Engenheiros e Arquitetos de Santos (AEAS), seeks to foster sustainable businesses and the preservation of the maritime ecosystem. With the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, valid for 36 months, APS will take a seat on the advisory board of the movement. The objective is to align the Port with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU), training managers in “blue economy” practices and environmental impact management. The blue economy refers to the sustainable use of ocean and coastal resources for economic growth, improved livelihoods, and jobs, while preserving ecosystem health. In addition to Pomini, the event was attended by the president of AEAS, Andre de Fazio, and the president of RTW, Mathias Mangels.
