The MSC Orion, a world-class New Panamax container ship measuring 366 meters in length, 51 meters in width and requiring 16 meters of depth, is the largest vessel ever received at the Suape dock in Pernambuco. The berthing maneuver took place at the Container Terminal (Tecon Suape) last Saturday (27th). "The arrival of the MSC Orion at Suape underscores the strategic importance of the port for our country, contributing to the establishment of direct routes between the Northeast and Asian countries via the Panama Canal. These routes will connect us to major port complexes, such as the Chinese and Singaporean ports, enhancing competitiveness for exporters and importers operating between the two continents," celebrates Marcio Guiot, CEO of Suape Port. Rinaldo Lira, Director of Port Development and Management, adds that the dredging of the external channel (already completed), the internal channel, and the turning basin (with work beginning in the coming weeks and a completion deadline of seven months) will attract even more large vessels with maximum cargo capacity.
