Píer Mauá is located within Rio de Janeiro's revitalized port district, offering outstanding infrastructure and visibility (Disclosure) One of the most significant events in Brazil's port sector, the 2º Encontro Porto & Mar 2026 now has an official date and venue: it will take place on September 22 at Píer Mauá, the International Cruise Terminal in Rio de Janeiro. Located in the heart of Porto Maravilha, the 70,000-square-meter (m²) site comprises five warehouses. "Holding the 2º Encontro Porto & Mar 2026 at Píer Mauá is a highly strategic decision. Rio de Janeiro is a key hub for the blue economy and foreign trade. Located within the city's revitalized port district, Píer Mauá provides the infrastructure and visibility required to connect leading national and international decision-makers", explains Maxwell Rodrigues, Port Affairs Consultant at Grupo Tribuna and moderator of the event. The event program, as well as registration details, will be announced soon. The agenda builds on the success of the 1º Encontro Porto & Mar, held in Santos on March 26, which focused on the relationship between public administration at all levels of government and the future of Brazil's ports. Authorities, executives, and industry experts are also expected to attend the event in Rio de Janeiro. "It will provide the ideal setting to broaden the scope of our discussions, which previously had a strong São Paulo focus but will now fully embrace a nationwide perspective. Brazil's port ecosystem will undoubtedly gain new horizons through discussions held in Rio de Janeiro", says Maxwell Rodrigues. Extensive program Grupo Tribuna also organizes events in Brasília, in addition to international trade missions, such as the delegation that traveled to China earlier this year. The program in Asia, held from May 24 to June 3, included visits to ports, technology and innovation companies, as well as internet and automation businesses in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. "The Port of Santos is our primary laboratory, but the logistical, regulatory, and customs challenges are the same across all regions of Brazil. Our events serve as a unified market intelligence platform. When we promote discussions with federal agencies such as Antaq (National Waterway Transportation Agency) or the Ministry of Ports and Airports (MPor), the resulting decisions have a direct impact on ports ranging from the Port of Itaqui, in Maranhão, to the Port of Rio Grande, in southern Brazil", notes Grupo Tribuna's Port Affairs Consultant. Rodrigues emphasizes that Encontro Porto & Mar is not a forum for political speeches, but rather an event dedicated to serious, technical, and forward-looking discussions. "Unlike conventional events that end when the panel sessions conclude, Porto & Mar extends its debates through permanent communication channels. The discussions become news stories published in Jornal A Tribuna, on TV Tribuna, on websites, and across other digital platforms." Located at the Port of Rio de Janeiro, the 70,000-square-meter site comprises five warehouses (Disclosure) Confraria On the same date as the event in Rio de Janeiro, Grupo Tribuna will also host another edition of Confraria do Porto. "We maintain an active and regular schedule of business dinners and private meetings with the private port ecosystem, including terminal operators, Port Authorities, and logistics operators. This creates multi-billion-dollar investment opportunities for Brazil's infrastructure." The venue In 1997, Píer Mauá was granted the concession to operate the Passenger Maritime Terminal at the Port of Rio de Janeiro, the country's main gateway for international tourism, as well as a surrounding area of 70,000 square meters. After taking over the concession, the operator invested in the restoration, improvement, and maintenance of the site. Over the years, the International Cruise Terminal has achieved several milestones, including hosting as many as 11 cruise ships simultaneously in 2016. The concessionaire is responsible for managing the terminal, the Prédio do Touring, Espaço Mauá, as well as five 19th-century warehouses, each measuring 3,500 square meters (m²), in addition to an 8,500-square-meter outdoor area.
